Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
